I do get a lot done at work, and am earning the respect of my co-workers (and cow-orkers). It's good to be employed again after a couple of years of nothing.

I have potential friends here (lexicat pallas_marisa) if only I would get off the "working 70+ hours" treadmill and go hang out with them.

I have a new friend at work (Zac)...

Miss Kitty is a bitch, but sometimes prrs for me and likes being an "only cat" much more than she liked being "Mite's friend" (god, I miss Mite)... so she's not ALL bad...

I love the Seattle weather much more than I ever loved any weather in my life. I didn't know how badly living in Austin sucked until I got out (and San Antonio didn't count because it has the same weather as Austin, and Houston didn't count because it has worse weather. Houston is an armpit.)

Things aren't so bad.

I am with you on the armpit comment. A better metaphore is a dog's mouth. Hot. Wet. And smelly.

so why don't you tell your boss that you've been working 70 hour weeks to establish yourself but you are getting burned out and are going to cut down to 40 hour weeks for a while

might work if they think I'm doing Stupendously Well, Almost Too Much So... works poorly if they think I'm just doing an Adequate job. and I have no idea which it is.

Shhhh! Don't tell anybody! It's good to hear things are looking up. Do yourself a favor, go to your boss and just *ask* for feedback, find out and then you'll know.

By the way, I *still* don't have a phone number for you. Can you email me?
